Readers...I need your advice.
So my lovely gym that I used to walk to in 3 minutes from my old apt, well, it's not that close anymore. A 10 minute drive isn't that long but still, it's not a short walk. I just go 2 times a week for Zumba now instead of the 4-5 times a week I used to go.
Now there's another gym within walking distance from my new place and in terms of a facility, it's a better, nicer gym. BUT, they don't offer Zumba. I love Zumba! This gym even costs less but Zumba just makes me happy. BUT I don't feel just going to the gym 2 times a week is enough. If I join both, it will be too much money, and going across town all the time? I just don't know.
What would you do?

Dear Mona Z!
ReplyDeleteI understand your dilemma...! If I were you and couldn't afford the extra money it would cost to go to both gyms, I would join the Zumba lessons twice a week and to-three other days of the week I would dance Zumba at home! If you can! :-) Actually I am doing something similar because I couldn't afford the gym. I now do fitness at home - for free - and follow Fitness Blender's Videos (check them out!) on YouTube. I'm sure there are some great Zumba videos out there aswell and you will still get the social lessons twice a week... :-)
Much love.
Thanks, I might walk the other days to keep active.
DeleteMaybe you can try the gym near your home and do Zumba dvds in the home? There's quite a few to choose from I think. Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred is a good DVD also. It's not Zumba but its good for losing a few pounds and getting into shape.
ReplyDeleteA lot of what I love about Zumba is the class itself. The instructor, the group. I'm thinking about talking to the instructor and owner to do a deal for say 6 months or something. Thanks :)
DeleteStick to what you love!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I do love Zumba but I figure, I can always go back for a class when I want to without the commitment of a membership. I'm going to try the new place for a while and rethink things later on.:)
Deletestick to your current gym... if it means only 2 sessions a week, try to add another 1-2 days of some everyday activity yourself. For e.g. go shopping, specifically to dash through the stores... Don't dwell too much and stop too much. Just power walk through the huge shopping centre. I did this for a while, and since I am not going to any gym at the moment since coming back to australia, I have started to do this again. It seriously works. I run around like crazy just going in and out of stores, checking everything out. By the time I am done, I have sweat patches :) Another activity might be vacuuming in too much detail, just going over and over simply to get your heart racing... some other house chores... I always find these very helpful
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a huge mall here but we have a long promenade near by that I can walk for a long time. Walking is great, Thanks :)
DeleteSense I don't have access to a gym, I workout on the treadmill or dance, sometimes both
ReplyDeleteBoth great exercise. I can tune out on a treadmill as long as I have my music or an audiobook/podcast going on my earpods.
DeleteI love Yoga at Western Creek near Deloraine.
