Eid Outfit

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Do you have your Eid outfit picked out yet? I'm going to wear this abaya. I bought it in June but haven't worn it yet. It's a little on the dressy side so I saved it for Eid.

So It came with this black shayla with the matching trim. I got this yellow scarf to incorporate with it. I don't know why, I can't do black abaya and black shayla without adding some color to break it up. Now, here's where I need your advice. How do I wrap these two so that the yellow is showing but the black is on top and it still shows the design on the neckline? Can anyone point me to a tutorial? I'll probably experiment till I get it. I like the look of 2 scarves but I don't want a lot of bulk or to die of heat but these 2 are pretty light so it should be ok.

I'll carry this new bag that I was gifted by my awesome brother. All that remains is shoes. I need a new pair of black shoes.

For jewelery, I'll probably wear this. Not sure if  the necklace is too much with the busy neckline?

I don't even know what we're doing on the first day of Eid yet, but I'll be rocking this. What are you going to wear? How should I do my hijab?

  1. Salaam sis, well Im the last person to give hijab styling advice :-) but I do love the neckline and sleeves on this abaya. Gives it that little bit of a funky vibe. Nice!

  2. I haven't even thought about what I'm going to wear for Eid, it depends on what we'll be doing inshAllah if the weather is good we'll be able to finish off some outdoor summer activities that we didn't have time for this year and I will be casual and comfy. If it's raining or gets really cold we'll probably just go for lunch and shopping, then I'll dress up. I bought a black maxi skirt I really want to wear, it's not fancy but it's new.
I tried something simular to this tutorial last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZUK166QOiw should be good for the hot weather since you are pinning it at the back of the neck in the beginning instead of the front.
    Salam Alaikum

  4. Mashaa Allaah that abaya is so elegant! You have great taste mashaa Allaah...you're like the "abaya queen" or something lol.

I think a yellow under piece goes wonderfully with it too, good choice! Try tying it to the back instead of the front, that way you have less material in your chin/neck area. I hope it works out inshaa Allaah (I'm sure you'll look beautiful) :-)

  7. Gosh you are organised! I haven't even thought of what to wear for Eid. Goes to show how busy I've been this year =/ By the way, that is a very cute abaya with a modern print. It's hard to find those in Malaysia.

About the hijab style... I would love to make a tutorial for you! InshaAllah, if I am able to make time =) I'll let you know if I do make one
