Cooooookieeees

I baked some cookies a few nights ago to give to some friends. I decided on Chocolate Chip and Cinnamon cookies. I wanted to make Ginger Snaps but my ambooba ran out. (Cooking gas)

One of the things I love about Egyptian culture is the friendliness of neighbors. Two friends/neighbors and I in my building often send each other plates of food and sweets via our children. We always return the plate with something of our own in return. It's really cute. I'm always introducing them to new American things like these cookies or rice crispy treats and brownies. They've sent me Egyptian favorites like stuffed vegetables and cosharee. It's a lovely little tradition.

I like the new background, and the cup of coffee on the upper right corner looks exactly like mine, white with lipstick :)

  5. Umm Omar, Yea it's quaint. Not sure what you mean about how to bake, I use the recipe linked above. Chocolate chips are hard to find here and when you do they're expensive so I chop up chocolate so it's really chocolate chunk cookies.

  9. HijabiMommy, Courage, please! Thanks yea, it's really nice to do it and we also borrow like an onion or a couple eggs so it's great.

Umm Omar, oh lol, It ran out after I made the Chocolate chip and Cinnamon cookies. On the last batch I could see the fire was low so I didn't have enough to try to make Ginger Snaps.

  10. They look lovely. I would love the recipe for your cinnamon cookies. I love the tradition here of exchanging food. One of our neighbours sent us a cake at Eid and we sent something too. Once though someone sent us two pigeons. Which was very nice, but they were still alive *gulp*
