I love that it has pockets!
It needed a few minor alterations so I took it to the tailor and he shortened it, sewed up the slits in the sides, and put a peice of the excess from the bottom in the V-neck like I requested. They also hemmed Zayneb's new jeans really nicely all for just 8LE! That's about a buck and a half! A couple of before and afters.

I chose this hijab to match the darker embroidery detail on the abaya but I could wear it with a brown one too. I couldn't find the mint green color but I like the darker green with it anyway. I even got a couple green hijab pins.

I also got these new shoes, I love them so! Same brand and shop where I got the ones earlier this summer. These are lower and more comfy. I had this bag E got me but no shoes to match so it's perfect.

I picked up this hijab just cause it's cute and it will look nice with any black abaya, plus 2 underscarfs.

I don't even know what we'll do but We'll probably go out to dinner and take the kids to play somewhere. What's everyone wearing/doing for Eid?

ma shaa Allah! great choice!

Salam Mona :),
ReplyDeleteyou've some beautiful outfit there!I like it very, very much. It's very good that you chose a green scarf, because it gives that contrast that makes pop out the beauty of the abaya even more. Not to mention the adorable pins =)!
The shoes and the scarf will perfectly complete the look.
I'm sure you'll have a nice eid and I hope you'll post some pictures of that day :).

Ugh, I haven't started shopping.
ReplyDeletefail.
I've gained weight and so am avoiding shopping like the black plague but, will figure it out inshallah. I love that hijab AND the matching pins.
Greens, reds, and purples look good on me so perhaps I'll steal from your color palette.
Masha Allah Congrats! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Jasmina, I thought the same thing regarding the green scarf as apposed to a lighter one.
ReplyDeletePerplexinTexan, I know how that feels. Hope you get something you love.
Ms. Unique, thank you!
Salam sis, this is my first time reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteWow, you already have an Eid outfit? Ughhh I am pregnant and feel like a cow. I have no idea what I'm going to wear.
However, I have reminded my husband daily about what he can get me for Eid. I loveeeee presents, lol.
Garage Sale, Thanks for visiting! I hope you get a great gift!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful things you got! Mashallah!
ReplyDeleteMy biggest problem as a newly converted sister is that here in Finland (where 95% of peole are christians), there's no shops that sell Islamic clothing, hijabs, etc. I know some good online stores, but at the moment, as I'm a university student living on goverment student grant, I just can't afford to buy these kind of beautiful things. I have a few basic hijabs that I have to survive with for the time being.
Maybe one day, inshallah, I'm able to travel to Egypt or some other country to go and shop around for abayas and hijabs... :)
... Love your blog, by the way! <3
Berfin, Thank you, What if you had a tailor make you an abaya? They're pretty simple and you can add embroidery and choose the fabric you like.
ReplyDeleteNever even occurred to me. Thanks so much for that advice! :)
ReplyDeleteNo problem, Berfin!
ReplyDeleteMashallah, great outfit!
