Propaganda

Once again the Egyptian government imposes it's brainwashing on my children. Note the top and bottom lines.

This was in my first grader's math book. See the here for previous examples of the same crap.

  3. yeah, each government have their own forms of brainwashing, unfortunately......

So, I guess all the Egyptians families who have 3+ kids are not happy? When do you reach the "miserable" state? I know families with 7+ kids... some with 10. I couldn't handle it but hey, to each their own.

  8. Wow, that's so weird. Do your kids attend private school?

  9. Yea it's weird. I mean, what are kids from larger families supposed to think/feel?

UmmOmar, yes they do, but even in private schools the Math, Arabic and Religion books are the same, from the govt. The rest of the subjects, Science, French, etc are from the school.

  10. Wow, grade one seems too early to start the family planning talk. They're really trying to indoctrinate these little kids. The kids from larger families must feel pretty bad.

  11. Man, that would make me want to breed just out of spite. And I don't even want anymore kids.

Although that is not the way to go, it's obvious that Egypt and other countries need to raise awareness on family planning issues - and this has to happen from a young age. Some families are happy big, some families are happy small, but it is important to reduce too big families where people that don't have the economical power to have too many kids and make life misrable for themselves and the kids....

  14. I lost your blog and now I'm glad I found out.I thought I was following but apparently not so.

P.S. you think Egypt is bad you should see the junk we call education in America.

  15. That is really messed up. Opinion should never be presented as fact, especially to little kids. They do not have the analytical thinking skills to understand that sort of thing yet.

Do they ever ask you about it?

  16. Megan, I know. It's actually pretty stupid I think.

    Sabiwabi, Ha!

Anon, I agree but I also agree this is SOOO not the way to go.

Inspired Muslimah, indeed it is insanity.

Hajar, I actually had her leave that blank and her classmate's mom said she did the same.

Perplxin Texan, YAY! Hmm that's a toughie..I mean at least in the US they aren't doing stuff like this.

Designerd :) We talked about this as a family and asked the kids what they thought and they thought it was because they had less people to take care of but they also said that with more kids they have someone to play with.
