Pancakes!

This morning the kids asked for pancakes so I pulled up the pancake recipe with the most ratings on Recipezaar and whipped some up. What are pancakes without syrup? Nothing special, if you ask me. Recently we finally found syrup in Egypt. At Carrefour to be exact. This bottle of Mississippi Belle was 17Le and lasts us at least 4 or 5 pancake or french toast breakfasts. Not bad. It's not the best syrup, a little on the watery side but it does the job.

I should try those in shaa Allah! I used to make my son "special pankakes" with M and Ms for dinner on his birthday LOL. Of course we dont celebrate birthdays anymore, but, the MnM part is still nice LOL

  2. Funny I've been craving pancakes and wondered if I could find syrup here. A trip to Carrefour is on the agenda now for sure! And yours look delish!

  3. UmmTravis, that sounds good, we sometimes chop chocolate in them.

CW,thanks. I've seen Eggo brand for like $40le, while it's probably better, I can't justify spending that much on syrup.

  12. S&S Yea, nothing close to real syrup, I saw on fatafeat (cooking channel)that you can make fruit syrup by boiling fruits with sugar, like strawberries, I'm going to try that next time. No need to stock up when you are hear indefinitely but I'm sure there are things I'd miss about here if I were to leave.
