Cut and Paste

While organizing recently, going through stuff, I came across this book of collages I did over 5 years ago. We had just moved to Egypt, living in Alex, didn't know anyone and didn't have internet so I entertained myself this way. I had a few magazines I brought for the plane and cut and pasted all day. It was fun looking through it again now, here are some pages.

I "laminated" the cover with the better part of a roll of tape. The inside cover was decorated with none other than my girl Hello Kitty. On the make up page, I wrote 1/03, seems like it's been longer.

I was polyvoring before it was cool! Pink stuff and cool home accessories caught my eye.

Bling and stilettos! That mug says "Women! Half the population, all the brains." I love tigers, Paris and Audrey Hepburn.

So what do you think? Childish? Corny? Cool? There are still some empty pages in that book and I intend to fill them.

  1. I don't know why but I feel like hugging you, I still don't know any people her in Kuwait and I've been here a year. I get panic attacks when the internet goes down and I buy several books at a time so I always have something to keep me busy.

i love how each page has its own theme and soooo unique from the others!!! Its a good hobby and its a good memory. another good idea is to collect little things from places you have been to like from a really good resturant u can get a napkin with writting it, or a hotel, or a park or anything. Like that time we went to the resort in Hurghada Shams Hotel and they gave us those red bands to wear on our wrists. Anyways i loove your blog now!!
    take care Khaltoo Mona,

  16. Assalam-alaikam,
These are great fun, I do something similar and you have given me the inspiration for a post.

Isn't there something so satisfying in cutting up bits of paper with very sharp scissors?
